It's ideal for designing beautiful, strange, and otherworldly tones that skirt the edge between sounding organic and synthetic. You'll find it useful for effortlessly adding mood to your music: everything from nostalgic melancholy to harsh horror dread. It's powered by Mirage (VST/AU), our sample-based synthesiser engine; which is included for free. Any of the 92 'instruments' that make up Deep Conjuring can be loaded into Mirage's 3 layers for further processing with features including as envelopes, filters and LFOs, and finally processed using the rack of included master effects.

Clean-tone squeaky gate sound design

Ever opened a squeaky metal gate and thought, “I want to use that sound in my music”? Well, now you can! Various metal gate squeaks were recorded, cleaned and processed to make this genuinely useful sound-design sample library. Each sample is available as an ‘instrument’ inside our sample-based-synth VST/AU engine, Mirage – included for free. You’ll also find 40 presets, including plucks, pads, basses and leads, ideal for soundtracks, atmosphere or adding a unique edge to any genre. The resonation caused by the gate hinges produced a surprisingly clean and consistent tone – almost similar in character to a cello.

Most of the samples were put through a granular synth to lengthen them. As part of this, it was possible to capture both soft and intense versions of the same sound. You can smoothly modulate between these 2 states using Mirage’s dynamics knob, allowing for expressive performances.

Each product in this bundle also comes with a set of production-ready presets. Mirage has a unified browser that allows for easy loading of any preset from any Mirage library, as well as inspiring randomisation options.

Terracotta pots: a tonal-percussion instrument

Organic, alive and earthy – Terracotta is an utterly unique melodic-percussion instrument made from terracotta pots. This instrument’s charming bell-like tones are ideal for adding a tangible vibrancy to percussion sections, arpeggios and melodic lines. The Chordophones is a Kontakt instrument made from multisampled plucked and hammered strings. It is an interesting and creative sound design instrument that features 6 different sounds that can be layered together. As well interesting sound design, it's capable of producing lively and realistic dulcimer-like or lyre-like tones. If you already own Terracotta for Kontakt you can get the new version for only $5. Terracotta is a multisampled flowerpot instrument and organic sound design tool for Kontakt 5. Quite surprisingly, terracotta flowerpots actually have a very pleasing bell-like sound. The library includes 7 different sounds that can be layered together, an arpeggiator and an effects page. It's sampled with 4 velocity layers and 4 round robin. Terracotta is also an excellent sound design tool, capable of anything from smooth ambiances to melodic percussion. Colourform is a Kontakt instrument designed to create picturesque organic sounds. The instrument's GUI draws a strong link between colour and sound. Each patch features 12 different sounds, that are each assigned a colour. These can then be blended and mixed in real time to produce new colours. Rather than standard knobs and sliders, this concept allows for a more visual link between what you see and what you hear. This is not to the detriment of practicality though, you will also find all of the standard volume, ADSR and filter controls, and a large selection of presets. Victorian Music Box is a multi-sampled antique music box for Kontakt. The sound is dark and mysterious, perfect for a cinematic style. The instrument is very tweakable with attack/release and low/high EQ controls. Included is a convolution reverb effect with a selection of unusual impulses. The winding-up sound and the mechanical 'whir' are also included in the library. This product requires the paid version of Kontakt.
